United Way of Snohomish County
Finalist for “Best Practices”:
United Way of America recognizes
Snohomish County from 170 entries nationally

June 4, 2007

United Way of Snohomish County was a finalist recognized for its Standards of Excellence from among 170 entries from United Ways nationally, receiving honors for Customer Relationship Management
and for the Parent Place web site. Snohomish County was the only
United Way to be a finalist in two areas.

United Way’s Customer Relationship Management is a robust program created to support year-round contact with key employers, bringing them the full breadth and depth of United Way services. Most employees at United Way work directly with one or more Snohomish County companies in an effort to move from a campaign-centered focus to a relationship-oriented culture that better serves the philanthropic goals of companies, meets their own employees’ needs, and improve lives in our county.

The Parent Place web site is a searchable database housing more than 1,000 local resources for parents—the most comprehensive list of resources in Snohomish County. The Parent Place is the answer to the need for a single source of information about community resources that promote and support responsible parenting. It is built on the foundation of the state’s 2-1-1 database, so it is being constantly updated.
