A music video by Nashville Star contestant Tommy Stanley was one creative way the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) team from North Puget Sound raised more than $602,000 for charity. It also earned them national recognition and a 2008 CFC Innovation Award.

Steve Lye will accept the award this week in Washington D.C. in an intimate ceremony at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. This is the first Innovation Award the North Puget Sound CFC has received.
The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. The North Puget Sound CFC is managed by United Way of Snohomish County.
United Way is a community impact organization serving Snohomish County for 67 years. In the last five years, United Way has raised more than $53.7 million for charitable organizations, with a special focus on local health and human services. United Way of Snohomish County is focused on solving the underlying causes of problems through grants and strategic initiatives, including: the 2-1-1 information line, the Volunteer Center, Success By 6, Born Learning, Individual Development Accounts and a Free Tax Preparation campaign.
