AquaSox players auctioned the shirts off their backs—literally—
for United Way of Snohomish County. Deborah Squires,
VP of Marketing for United Way, accepted the check for $1,375
with thanks from Coach Juan Alvarez, new AquaSox jersey owner
Melissa Roth, 11, and AquaSox General Manager Brian Sloan.

The AquaSox auctioned off 32 team jerseys to the highest bidders
during the recent Volunteer Appreciation Night game.

“I bought it to support United Way and to support the AquaSox,” said Marlayne Roth, who bought jersey #24 donated by Coach Juan Alvarez
for her daughter, Melissa, 11. “United Way works is so many positive
ways to help people in our community, and the AquaSox are great for families too. We just love having a single-A team here to take the kids
to and be able to see the game and the players up close.”

“We are a community based team and we firmly believe in giving back to our community, said Brian Sloan, General Manager for the Everett AquaSox. “Without a strong community we would not have a successful baseball club so we are very proud to help raise funds for such a worthy organization as United Way of Snohomish County.”
