United Way of Snohomish County announces new board chair and seven new board members

United Way of Snohomish County is proud to announce its new Board Chair for 2011-2012 and the election of seven new members to its board of directors. Each of the new board members will serve three year terms.
The new Board Chair is Jim Litz with Agilent Technologies. The new members of the board are Brian Baird with Boeing; Andrew Ballard, a marketing professional; Josh Estes with the pulp and paper workers union; Frank Guglielmo with SPEEA; Ron Heller with Union Bank and Grace Holland with IAM. Matt Reinhard, a leading professional in the local aerospace industry, is rejoining the board.
Jim Litz, Agilent Technologies
Jim will serve as the Board Chair for 2011-2012. He is the Site Business Manager for Agilent Technologies in Snohomish County and has been with Agilent for thirty-three years. For the last few years, he has volunteered with Reading with Rover, a childhood literacy program based in Snohomish County. Jim has been actively involved with United Way of Snohomish County for the past twenty years. He has served several terms on the Board, has been a long-time member of the Marketing Committee and was Chair of the Vision Council Coordinating Committee (2010-2011). Jim, his wife and three daughters live in Mill Creek.
Brian Baird, Boeing
Brian has been with The Boeing Company since 1991 and is currently the leader for the newly formed BCA Seat Integration Team. Prior to this role, Brian served as deputy to the 777 Program Vice President and led the Business Operations and Program Planning & Control teams. Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Montana State University, a Master of Business Administration from Seattle University and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Washington State University. He also recently completed the General Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Brian has participated in Earth Day, Relay for Life and Backpacks for Kids and is a longtime donor to the Employees Community Fund and United Way. Brian and his wife Jodi live in Snohomish, and have two boys ages 17 and 15.
Andrew Ballard, Marketing Solutions
Andrew is the President of Marketing Solutions, a Snohomish County agency that develops research-based growth strategies for small to midsize businesses. He has over 30 years experience specializing in marketing research, strategic planning, brand development and revenue generation. Andrew is a longtime Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow and Past President of the Lynnwood Rotary Club. He also serves on several community boards and councils. He has been involved with United Way for the past several years, conducting a marketing survey for the organization and serving on its Revenue Generating Committee. Andrew and his wife Sandra live in Mill Creek, and have two married children and one granddaughter.
Josh Estes, AWPPW Local #183
Josh is President of Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Local #183, the union representing the workers at the Kimberly Clark Everett Facility. Josh has been involved with several non-profit agencies and is a long-time volunteer with the National Teen Leadership Program and is currently a participant in the 2011-2012 Signature Class of Leadership Snohomish County. He has served on United Way’s Workforce Campaign Committee, is currently on the Revenue Generating Committee and is a member of the newly-formed Labor Advisory Committee. Josh is a lifetime resident of Snohomish County and currently lives in Marysville with his wife Kelly and two-year-old daughter Ella.
Frank Guglielmo, SPEEA
Frank is a Contract Administrator with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace. He is the son of a union organizer and was brought up in the labor movement. With over 15 years of experience with various unions, Frank has worked as a member, steward and organizer for the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW). He has an undergraduate degree in Industrial Labor Relations from SUNY Old Westbury and a graduate degree in Labor Studies from UMASS Amherst. Frank also serves on the board of the Puget Sound Labor Agency. He is involved in the Belltown Community Council and the Belltown Citizens’ Patrol. Frank is a long-time donor to United Way and lives in Seattle with his girlfriend.
Ron Heller, Union Bank
Ron Heller is Senior Vice President and Pacific Northwest Market President for Union Bank, N.A. As Market President, Mr. Heller oversees the bank’s 51 branches in Oregon and Washington. Ron joined Union Bank in 2010 after serving more than three decades in leadership positions at Wells Fargo and its predecessor First Interstate Bank. He was most recently Senior Vice President and Community Banking President for the Northwest Washington division of Wells Fargo. Active in the community, he is currently treasurer of Secret Harbor/Foster Care Resources and has served on the boards of Providence Seaside Hospital and the Economic Development Association of Skagit County. Ron holds a bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, and management from Central Washington University. Ron is a Washington native and is based in Everett, Washington. He lives in Mill Creek with his wife and three sons.
Grace Holland, IAM 751
Grace currently works for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751, which serves over 30,000 hourly members at The Boeing Company. Before joining the union, she had worked with Boeing for fifteen years. She has also volunteered with Northwest Harvest, the American Cancer Society, Family and Friends of Victims of Violent Crimes, the Salvation Army, Snohomish County Domestic Violence Shelter and Guide Dogs of America. Grace has been involved with United Way of Snohomish County for the past eight years. She started as a United Way Loaned Executive and also serves on the Community Matters Vision Council. Grace has lived in Snohomish with her husband Ron for the past 16 years and have three adult children, one grandson, and will soon be welcoming a granddaughter to the family.
Matt Reinhard, Rhino Ventures
Matt is a leading professional in the local aerospace industry and was the CEO of Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies in Arlington. He now leads RhinoVentures, a commercial real estate company. Matt has served on the board for the Y of Snohomish County and has led their Invest in Youth Campaign and served as their Trustee’s Campaign Chair. He has been involved with United Way since the mid-1990s, served on the Board for six years, has previously served as Board Chair, and the 2009 Campaign Chair, and has served on several committees. He is the current chair of the United Way Tocqueville Society. He recently received the 2011 United Way of Snohomish County Reeves/Sievers Founders' Award recognizing a lifetime of community service and the spirit of philanthropy. Matt and his wife Keely live in Snohomish and have three sons.
