United Way’s Tocqueville Society recognizes the generosity of individuals contributing at the highest levels of $10,000 or more annually. These caring philanthropists exemplify an outstanding commitment to improving the quality of life in our community. The society is named for the French aristocrat Alexis de Tocqueville, who applauded the American spirit of giving for the common good.
Tocqueville givers raise the standard for giving in our community.
As members of the local chapter of this prestigious national society, they receive invitations to distinguished recognition events to
meet and socialize with fellow leadership givers.

“ As soon as individuals with a cause have found one another out, they combine. From that moment, they are no longer isolated people, but a power seen from afar, whose actions serve for an example and whose language is listened to."
—Alexis de Tocqueville
