Eligibility RequirementsOpportunity Fund

  • Any organization that wishes to apply for an Opportunity Grant must be a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
  • The organization shall be incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington.
  • The organization shall be currently registered with the State of Washington under the Charitable Solicitation Act.
  • The organization shall be compliant with United Way’s Non-discrimination Policy.
  • The organization shall be fiscally and administratively sound. Financial reports will be submitted for review.

Outreach Fund

  • Organizations currently receiving Multi-year Program Grants are not eligible.
  • Applicant must be a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, or must identify a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that can act as a fiscal agent for the project.
  • The organization shall be fiscally and administratively sound, and willing to provide financial information as requested.
  • The organization and fiscal agent shall be compliant with United Way’s Non-discrimination Policy.
  • The organization and fiscal agent shall be compliant with the USA Patriot Act.

Additional Criteria

  • Applicants must attend a Question & Answer Session with the Grant Review Team.
  • Absolutely no late applications will be accepted.
  • Grant recipients must complete a Project Report at the end of one year.
  • Applicants using a fiscal agent must complete the Fiscal Agent Agreement Form.

Multi-year Program Fund

  • Any organization that wishes to apply for a Multi-year Program Grant shall have been in existence as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization for a minimum of two years at the time of application.
  • The organization shall be incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington.
  • The organization shall be currently registered with the State of Washington under the Charitable Solicitation Act.
  • The organization shall be compliant with United Way of Snohomish County's Non-discrimination Policy.
  • The organization shall be fiscally and administratively sound. Audits and financial reports are submitted for review.
