La Palmera's Cinco de Mayo Celebrated |
 |
Restaurant manager and co-owner Hector Mendoza
thought his customers wouldn't mind "giving back"
along with their Cinco de Mayo celebrating. He was
right. The $5 cover charge was readily paid once
customers understood it would benefit the community
through United Way. La Palmera in Mill Creek raised
$1,500. Hector chose United Way because he wanted
it to do the most good for the most people. "I have
learned that when you give something, you give
without expecting anything back. But it's going to come
back another way."
