Thank you for your support of United Way. This newsletter provides the latest information about how United Way and our partners are making a difference in the lives of kids, families and community in Snohomish County. Thanks to you, United Way is changing the way. From quick fixes to real, lasting change. That’s what matters.™
United Way is going places—come along.
Thursday, March 8, 2007 Those who were involved in our 2006 workplace giving campaigns are invited to celebrate the campaign award winners, hear how they’re helping change our community for the better, and take a look at United Way’s new “home” in Everett. To RSVP, call Laura Walker at 425.921.3441.
Joni was one of the first people in line to get her taxes filed at United Way’s free tax preparation site. She couldn’t believe anyone would do that for free. When the single mother of two young girls received a refund of $5,041—over a quarter of her income—she was amazed and grateful. Stories like Joni’s abound. Volunteers in the first three weeks have already completed 136 returns generating $275,365 in refunds. The real satisfaction has been claiming $118,239 in earned income tax credits—real money back in the pockets of working, low-income families using it to pay bills, get car insurance, even to buy a bed for a family sleeping on the floor.

Thanks to volunteers like Andrea and donors like you, United Way’s Local Community Fund is making an impact for our kids, our families and our community.
