  • Thank you for your support of United Way. This newsletter provides the latest information about how United Way and our partners are making a difference in the lives of kids, families and communities in Snohomish County.

Thanks to you, United Way is changing the way. From quick fixes to real, lasting change. That's what matters.™

Thanks 1014 times for Days of Caring
Team up with Tully's & United Way!

Members of United Way's Young Leaders Society created an interactive Born Learning Trail at Willis D. Tucker Community Park.

1014 volunteers came out for the 15th annual Days of Caring on September 28 and 29. This was the first two-day event.

Some great remarks overheard on Days of Caring:
"These projects are really going fast."
"I love working with these kids." (an adult working with a teenager)
"It's awesome to be so respected for what we are doing." (a teenager)
"Can we do this more than once a year?"

And our favorite: "What I did was easy--I just had to die."
--Joyce Olsen, volunteering at the Pandemic Flu disaster drill at Valley General Hospital.

Joyce also echoed many volunteers and agencies who said they like the Saturday option because it's not always easy to get off on a weekday.

We'd also like to especially thank the City of Marysville Parks Department and Snohomish County Parks and Recreation for their co-sponsorship and help on Born Learning trails that were built in Jennings and Willis Tucker parks. Born Learning trails offer a series of outdoor games for adults and children to explore together to build literacy and school readiness.
