Families Matter
All individuals and families should have access to basic needs of food, shelter, health care, and the opportunity to live independently and self-sufficiently.
Through United Way’s own initiatives and through investments in community programs, the Families Matter Vision Council is targeting areas such as housing, health care, nutrition, job retraining and life-skills training to develop strategies, resources and initiatives to improve the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Together, we supported programs that served 185,861 individuals
and families.
United Way invested $2.84 million in 27 programs over 3 years for families and individuals such as homeless services, emergency housing, senior nutrition, hospice care and counseling.
We provided housing, health care, and food to many. We helped others struck by disaster. We funded job skill training, help for victims of abuse, and mental health programs.
They live in Lynnwood, Silvana, Edmonds, Stanwood, Everett, Gold Bar, Marysville—every community and neighborhood. They live next door.
