Looking to file your 2015 federal income tax return? Trained United Way volunteers will be available to help you file for FREE. You could qualify for thousands of dollars in tax credits and refunds, and we can help you claim them here!

If you made less than $62,000 in 2015, come get your federal income taxes prepared and e-filed FREE for a fast refund. From January 19 to April 16, 2016, you can drop in and visit a free tax preparation site near you:

We cannot prepare your return unless you bring all required documentation.

  • Social Security (or ITIN) cards for ALL people listed on return
  • ALL W-2s or 1099 income statements from all income sources
  • Form 1095-A If you received health insurance through a state or federal marketplace
  • Purchasing U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Applying for state/federal benefits
  • Electronic filing
  • Refund direct deposit
  • College Education Credits
  • Child Tax Credits
  • Health Insurance
  • Taxpayers with income above $62,000
  • Taxpayers with Rental income or royalities
  • Taxpayers involved in partnerships
  • Taxpayers who are business owners

Optional Documents

Though the documents below are not required, having them may result in a larger refund or more convenience for you. If you have any of the following, make sure to bring them to your appointment:

  • A copy of last year's tax return
  • Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit
  • Out-of-pocket expenses for higher education (Form 1098-T)
  • Payments made on student loans (Form 1098-E)
  • Mortgage interest payments and insurance premiums (Form 1098)
  • Name, address and taxpayer identification number for a childcare provider

Need a copy of a previous year’s return?

United Way of Snohomish County does not keep copies of tax returns prepared at our sites after the filing deadline, but you can obtain a copy from the IRS.
