Each year, United Way of Snohomish County's Day of Caring brings together volunteers who are committed to creating positive change in our community.

Volunteer teams, organized primarily by local companies, complete projects for local nonprofit agencies that often lack the necessary resources to tackle such important initiatives themselves.

For the 23rd annual Day of Caring in 2016, volunteers were part of the first ever Puget Sound Day of Caring between Snohomish, Pierce & King Counties on September 23. More than 550 volunteers came out and joined others in giving back at 27 project sites for 25 local nonprofit agencies, cleaning up schools, reading to children, painting, restoring trails at community parks, serving food at food banks and so much more. Collectively, these volunteers gave more than 2,200 hours worth of timea value of $64,357!

Aug. 17: Volunteer registration opens
Individuals and volunteer teams can begin to sign up for projects

Aug. 25: Agency project posting closes

Sept 6: Volunteer registration closes 

Sept. 7: Match Meeting
Volunteer and project leads meet to talk shop for the day of the event

Sept. 15: Day of Caring
Agencies and volunteers get together for one of the largest community service events of the year

Sept. 16: Additional Day of Caring projects
Continued projects, as needed
