An endowment is an investment into the future of United Way and the community we serve. Our CORE work focuses on changing outcomes for future generations. What better way to invest in the future of Snohomish County’s children and families than with a part of your own legacy.
The United Way endowment creates tangible and sustainable resources that are dedicated, forever, to our mission. It will guarantee our ability to respond to the changing needs of this long-term work and build capacity for both present and future needs to achieve lasting community impact for generations to come. There are two funds that donors may direct their gifts to:
THE CORE FUND
Donations to this fund are invested into our CORE work to support children birth to age 8 and their families with low income:
- Collaborative grants, programs, and services
- Address emerging needs and issues
- Build community capacity
- Provide emergency funding in response to critical changes in community conditions
THE SUSTAINING FUND
Donations to this fund are invested into United Way’s infrastructure and operations. As a nonprofit, we are not only a funder, but also a convener and catalyst for change. Our dedicated staff administers grants, coordinates volunteers, processes pledges, and lends their talents and expertise to this important work every day. Giving to this fund helps to sustain United Way as an organization to continue to make an impact on the community.
- United Way staff
- Facility, maintenance, and operations
- New tools and technology to create efficiencies and increase impact
Here are examples of pledges over five years. We would be happy to talk with you about a gift that is appropriate for you.
EXTEND YOUR ANNUAL GIFT
Consider making a gift that will continue your annual contribution for years to come. As an example, a gift of $25,000 to the endowment creates $1,000 in revenue every year to United Way. And your gift will continue to grow forever.
