United Way Announces Leadership Change After Chapter of Growth

After years of dedicated service, former Executive Director Brittany Williams has stepped down, marking the end of a meaningful chapter of growth, stability, and renewed direction for the organization.

“I’m deeply proud of the progress we’ve made to strengthen United Way, build new partnerships, and prepare for the future through our strategic planning work,” said Williams.

Williams joined United Way of Snohomish County in 2022 as Communications & Social Media Manager and quickly emerged as a passionate advocate for transformation. Under her leadership, the organization deepened its focus on equity and early childhood well-being—laying the groundwork for this strategic renewal.

Highlights of Williams’ accomplishments include:

• Launching the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, serving more than 15,000 children and delivering nearly 300,000 free books throughout Snohomish County.

• Fostering partnerships focused on family stability and economic mobility, directing Community Reinvestment funds into historically marginalized communities.

• Revitalizing community engagement and advocacy, helping United Way reestablish its voice in policy and systems-change work at local and state levels.

• Leading the development of United Way’s role in Snohomish County following the conclusion of its CORE (Creating Open Roads to Equity) funding model.

“We are profoundly grateful for Brittany’s leadership and vision,” said Autumn Nash, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her work has positioned United Way to move boldly into this next era—one centered on collaboration, innovation, and measurable change for the families who need it most.”
